Eat Slugs, Warner Bros.: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Moved to July 2009

"But July's so far away, Hermione."Courtesy of Warner Bros.

Galloping gargoyles! Warner Bros. apparently worried that a lack of 2009 tent poles might lead to a dreaded 20th Century Foxstyle summer collapse has moved Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince back from this Thanksgiving to next July. But is that the real reason or have the ticket sales for the long-awaited Broadway debut of Harry Potter's wang, so much lower than those of Billy Elliot, scared Warners away from a fall release date? (Probably not.) We're totally disappointed that trailer was pretty fantastic. Must we really wait until July to meet Hero Fiennes-Tiffin?

The Game - The Game Wants To Work With Jay-z

Rapper THE GAME has been "subliminally" insulting JAY-Z on his records - in a bizarre bid to get the hip-hop mogul to work with him.

The Dreams hitmaker took shots at Jay-Z via his music on tracks like It's Okay (One Blood), after hearing a freestyle the 99 Problems star made that The Game thought was aimed at him.

It turned out to be a misunderstanding, but The Game is glad it happened - because Jay-Z has now acknowledged his presence in the rap game.

And he hopes their lyrical exchange will lead to them hooking up in the studio.

He says, "Even though me and (Jay-Z) don't talk or do songs, he knows. He listens.

"He heard the 'You're 38, and you're still rappin', ugh' (from It's Okay (One Blood)). He came back on 'Kingdom Come' and I was like, 'Yeah! Jay listens to my s**t! (When Jay said) 'I used to think that rapping at 38 was ill / Till last year I grossed about 38 mill.' I was like, 'I know who he is talkin' to. I know he listens. I know his antenna's up.'

"Maybe one day he'll do a song with me, and then I'll stop shooting subliminals."

Pete Doherty Questions Babyshambles Future

Pete Doherty has questioned the future of Babyshambles, revealing that he is concerned why the band aren't a bigger commercial success.

Speaking to MTV News, to the surprise of his bandmates, Doherty said: “We’ve got a few concerns at the moment over issues with management, where the money has been going (and) distribution of wealth.”

The singer, who was speaking at the Rock AM festival, said that the group needed to “sit down as a band and talk about the future.”

"What’s happening and why, when and who with. Two years of arseing about, we could actually make money out of this job,” he said.

“I’ve just realised people are always saying to me ‘yeah but you can afford it’ and I’m like ‘what’s making them say that?’”

Madonna joins Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Madonna was among the artists inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in New York last night. To see our gallery from the Hall of Fame ceremony, click here.
Inducting Madonna into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Justin Timberlake said: "She's done it by working harder and being smarter than everybody else. As she made MTV the place to be seen, she racked up the greatest track record in music history - 47 Top 40 hits. She became the biggest name on the planet the old-fashioned way - she earned it."
During her acceptance speech, Madonna said: "It is a great honour to receive this award, and I'm grateful and appreciative for the acknowledgement that this implies."
She also thanked those who had helped her launch her career and quoted from the Talmud.
"I have gone on to do so many things in my life, from writing children's books, to designing clothes, to directing a film. But for me it always does, and it always will, come back to the music, so thank you," she said.
The other stars who joined Madonna on the honour roll were John Mellencamp, Leonard Cohen, the Dave Clark Five and the Ventures.
Blues great Little Walter was posthumously inducted in the sideman category, while production and songwriting legends Kenneth Gamble and Leon Huff received the Ahmet Ertegun Award.
Irish singer-songwriter Damien Rice performed Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah" at the ceremony.

R Kelly trial: Day 17

Closing arguments were delivered in R Kelly.'s child pornography case today (June 12), with prosecutors saying the R&B star is a sexual predator and his defence team insisiting he has been wrongly accused and is not the man who appears in the video tape at the centre of the case.

The Chicago jury was shown the sex tape a second time today. The defence contends that the man in the tape could not be their client because he does not have a mole on his back, as R Kelly. does.

They have also argued that Kelly may be the vicitm of an extortion plot.

"That's what this is about ?? money, money, money," defence attorney Sam Adam Jr said.

The defence has also insisted that the girl on the tape was not the teenager in question. The girl has denied appearing in the tape, but friends and family have testified that it is her on the tape, and that she may have been as young as 13 at the time the tape was made.

Adam showed the jurors a modest photo of the girl and stated, "If you convict R Kelly., you're calling her a whore."

The explicit tape shows a couple engaged in oral sex and shows the male urinating on the female.

Prosecutor Robert Heilingoetter said Kelly preyed on young girls and was clearly the man on the videotape, reports the Associated Press.

"The opportunity to hold him responsible?will never come again," he told jurors.

Kelly is charged with 14 counts of videotaping, producing or soliciting child pornography. If convicted of all charges, he could face up to 15 years in prison.

Once the genre-challenging, independent hip-hop aspect got underway in the late '90s, High Priest's vanguard hip-hop trio Antipop Consortium farther pushed that envelop, blending glitch and IDM into their b-boy postures. High Priest, Beans, and M. Sayyid gained a important following touring with the likes of Radiohead and DJ Shadow before they ended up leaving their part shipway in 2002. However, High Priest briefly teamed up with M. Sayyid a few years later to form Airborn Audio, releasing Good Fortunes on the indie label Ninja Tune in early 2005. High Priest did book some solo 12" records for Sound-Ink during the Airborn Audio stint, merely his official album debut, Born Identity, did non come until February 2007. On the vocal "Keep Time" from the LP, he collaborated with members of experimental sway grouping TV on the Radio.
